The oldest know rendition of the name of Jesus; found carved on an ancient ossuary, a container holding the remains of the dead.
THE JESUS of HISTORY
Today we probably wouldn't recognize the real Jesus of history. Over the millennia, the Jesus that we know bears little resemblance to the man that walked the dusty paths of Galilee and Judea teaching the people about God (Abba). He has been changed, morphed and deified in a way that would have undoubtedly horrified him. The stories about the teacher, who seemed to be one with his Father, grew over the decades with their telling. It wasn't for over 40 years after he died that the first of the Gospels (Mark) finally began to record the sayings and events of his life.

THE JAMES OSSUARY
The James Ossuary (burial box) of "James, Son of Joseph, Brother of Jesus" inscribed on the side. Found in a family tomb near Jerusalem. Did this 1st century ossuary actually hold the bones of the brother of Jesus?
